Magic Christmas Milk

How about a fun experience with Santa’s favourite drink, little scientist?

Do you know what is Santa’s favourite drink?

Let me give you a hint, he likes to drink it with cookies.

Yes, a glass of milk! Let’s go!

MATERIALS

• Milk
• A flat dish
• Food colouring: red, green and yellow
• 2 cookie cutters
• Dish soap
• Glitter
• Cotton swabs
• A small container

STEP 1

• Add some milk in your dish, not too much, just enough to cover the bottom.
• Place the cookie cutters in the dish.

STEP 2

• Add 2 to 3 drops of food colouring in your cookie cutters (use 2 colours).
• Add a few drops of the colour that hasn’t been used around the cookie cutters.

STEP 3

• Add the glitter.
• Put a small quantity of dish soap in your container.
• Dip one end of your cotton swab in the dish soap then dip it on a drop of food colouring.
• Repeat these steps for every drop of food colouring.

OBSERVATION

What do you see?

The food colouring swirls and flees, just like the soap that chases the dirt off your hands or off the dishes.

HAVE FUN!

You can continue having fun by removing the cookie cutters, adding more food colouring and more soap.
