Magical Hearts!

Today, little scientist, we will make an experience that fizzes and foams!

That’s right, we’re going to make hearts that transform like magic before your eyes.

MATERIALS

• Baking soda
• Vinegar
• Food colouring (2 colours)
• Glitter
• 2 bottles
• Water
• 2 heart-shaped moulds (optional)
• A container

STEP 1

• In a bowl, pour your baking soda and add some glitter.
• Add a little bit of water until you get a thick paste.

STEP 2

• Put the paste in your two moulds or make two heart shapes with your hands.

STEP 3

• Put your hearts in the freezer for a few hours.
• Take them out and wait a few minutes.
• Remove them from the moulds and put them in your container.
• Put vinegar and food colouring in the bottles.

STEP 4

• Pour the vinegar on the hearts and look closely!
• What is happening? The hearts foam up and crackle!

IT’S MAGICAL!

You can continue to add vinegar until the hearts disappear completely!
